Course Prerequisites

This program is open to everyone—divers and non-divers alike!

• Minimum Age: 12 years old (or 15 for some professional certifications).

• Certification: None required. This is a non-diving "dry" specialty.

• Medical: No specific medical requirements, but participants should be physically able to perform chest compressions.

 

Course Structure

React Right is a flexible, modular program usually completed in one full day or two evenings of hands-on training.

1. Digital Learning (Theory):
   Complete the academic sessions via the MySSI App. You will study:

   • Primary Assessment: How to safely approach a scene and check for ABCs (Airway, Breathing, Circulation).

   • First Aid & CPR: Mastering chest compressions, rescue breaths, and wound management.

   • AED (Automated External Defibrillator): Learning how to use this life-saving technology safely.

   • Oxygen Provider: Special focus on administering 100% oxygen for diving emergencies.

2. Practical Application (Hands-on Workshop):
   Under the guidance of an SSI Instructor, you will practice:

   • Scenario Simulations: Realistic "mock" emergencies to test your reaction time and skills.

   • Manikin Practice: Perfecting your CPR technique and AED pad placement.

   • O2 Kit Assembly: Learning how to set up and use various oxygen delivery systems (Demand Valve vs. Constant Flow).

 

Recognition
