This course gives you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to safely explore the "Deep Blue" down to a maximum of 40 metres (130 feet).

 

Explore the Depths Safely

Deep diving requires specialized training to manage shorter no-decompression limits and the effects of nitrogen narcosis. In this course, you will learn how to plan and execute deep dives while maintaining total control.

What You’ll Master:

• Deep Dive Planning: Calculating air consumption and no-decompression limits for deeper profiles.

• Specialized Equipment: Learning about redundant air sources and dive computer settings.

• Managing Narcosis: Identifying and handling the physical and mental effects of depth.

• Safety Procedures: Practicing deep-water safety stops and emergency protocols.

 

Course Prerequisites

To begin your deep diving journey in Ponta Delgada, you must meet the following:

• Certification: Must be a certified Open Water Diver (or equivalent from another agency).

• Minimum Age: 15 years old (for the full 40m certification).

  • Note: 12–14 year olds can participate but are limited to a maximum depth of 21 metres.

• Logged Dives: While there is no strict minimum, it is highly recommended to have at least 10–15 logged dives so you are comfortable with your buoyancy before going deep.
