Course Prerequisites
Getting started is quick and easy. To enroll, you only need:

Minimum Age: 10 years old.

Certification: Must be a certified Open Water Diver (or currently enrolled in an Open Water Diver course).

Course Structure
The SSI Nitrox program is highly flexible and can often be completed as a "dry" specialty in just a few hours.

Digital Learning (Theory):
Complete 4 academic sessions through the MySSI App. You'll learn about Nitrox physics, physiology, equipment considerations, and dive planning. -
Practical Application Session:
Work with an instructor to master the essential "hands-on" skills:-
Using an oxygen analyzer to check your tank's mix.

Calibrating equipment and logging your gas fills.

Setting your dive computer for Enriched Air.

Optional Training Dives:
While not a mandatory requirement for certification, many SSI Dive Centers include two optional dives so you can experience the benefits of Nitrox first-hand.
