The Scuba Skills Update isn't a full course—it’s a personalized "tune-up" with an SSI Professional. You’ll review everything from equipment assembly to mask clearing and buoyancy control in a safe, controlled environment.

What’s Covered:

• Knowledge Review: A quick digital refresh on dive planning, hand signals, and safety rules.

• Gear Setup: Mastering your BCD, regulator, and computer settings.

• In-Water Skills: Practicing emergency procedures, air-sharing, and weighting.

• Buoyancy Mastery: Fine-tuning your trim before heading to the open ocean.

 

Course Prerequisites

To join a Scuba Skills Update in Ponta Delgada, you simply need:

• Certification: You must hold at least an Open Water Diver certification (or Junior Open Water) from SSI or any other recognized agency (PADI, NAUI, CMAS, etc.).

• Minimum Age: 10 years old.

• MySSI Profile: Access to the SSI digital learning materials (which are free for this program!).
